Hey guys, thanks for a great first season. It's been fun listening.
Couple of comments...first, one of the shows you mentioned that started out great but kind of fizzled was BSG which was Ron Moore's baby. Ron seems to be one of the major parties responsible for season three and beyond of DS9, which, of course, is when the show really hits its stride.
Also, to Seth, hang in there on Enterprise. My hubby (Greg from NY) and I just finished watching every episode and movie from the Trek'verse and Enterprise ends on a high note. It gets better in season three, but season four is, hands down, one of the best seasons of any series of Star Trek (just don't watch the series finale, you'll be happier that way). Also, Seth, thanks for the great editing job. The show is really tight and it shows.
I'm sure there are more people interested in a live feed than you'd think. Greg and I listen to the Babylon Podcast's live feed each week and it's a lot of fun. In fact, it's how we discovered this show.
Can't wait for season 2. Keep up the good work.

I caught this podcast about two weeks ago, so while it's been *great* to listen to the podcasts back-to-back (similar to watching an entire season of a TV show on DVD on a lazy Saturday...bliss...), I am now sad that I caught up, and must wait in line for the next podacst like everyone else. ',:^/
Looking forward to season 2! And yes, I, too, am disappointed that there are no flying cars...

Wow guys thanks for the response on the Wrap Up episode. Considering it was half Star Trek and half about us. I hope no one is put off by our "least favorite" things about the show. Also, I do not agree with Mr. Brooks at all....I want my flying car, I was promised a flying car.

Now that I know that every time I comment my name will be mentioned on the show, I'll really start commenting.

I totally disagree with the notion that either Lost or BSG started out strong, and got weaker as they went on. I feel the exact opposite is true. BSG hit some storytelling snaps midway through season 3, in part because a major plot point was dropped at the last minute. Season 4, however, was excellent and the series had one of the strongest final episodes I've ever seen.
And Lost has just been amazing. It blows my mind every season how the writers managed to contruct such a smart, well thought out continuity that just gets more complex and more interesting as it goes on. Season 5, with it's time hopping and paradoxes, has proven to be the best season of Lost so far!

Just to chime in on the best/favorite character from the first season question, I'd have to give it, hands down, to Andrew Robinson's Garak. Indeed, for me, he will remain the favorite for the entire run of the series.
One of the things that most amazes me about Robinson's performance is the way he appears to have absolutely known who Garak was right out of the gate. Compare his performance to, say, Patrick Stewart's interpretation of Picard from early in the run of TGN. While Stewart is a wonderful actor whose talent helped Picard eventually become an icon, his portrayal of Picard in later seasons is so different from what he'd done prior, that the only sensible explanation is that he hadn't initially quite gotten a finger on exactly who Picard was. This can be contrasted again against the Odo character, who also changed quite a bit from the earlier seasons, but primarily because of character growth (or at least it appears so to me).
Robinson's performance was consistent and spot on from day one. It was amazing to watch such an intuitive portrayal.
As for the show, you guys are doing great... even if it's all because of the magic of editing (ha!)
Keep it coming!

This was my personal favorite podcast so far simply because in addition to all the great DS9 talk, we got a better taste of who you three people are! It was fun and I found myself smiling or laughing many times. Thank you for this more candid episode.
Katrina: Garak is amazing, isn't he? How Robinson could nail the character down from the first appearance, just shows his inherent skill and intelligence. I also think Armin Shimerman did a heck of a job with Quark. His character was firmly in-place from the start of the pilot. With all the talent of this amazing cast, its no wonder why DS9 is my favorite show!

Hey, loved this special episode. Me and my wife are re-watching DS9 and we're in Season 4, but we take so much time between episodes that's probable The Gamma Quadrant podcast will catch up on us.
Love the episode-by-episode analysis, you guy do a great, great job.
Now I must ask: what's this version of DS9 opening that played in the beginning of the episode? I loved it, who recorded it? And also, where do Avery Brooks speeches at the end come from? Just curious.
